대해 신경 끄라고 하셨어
하지만 40마일을
걸으면

자리에 앉아서
길을 나서는 나를 지켜 보더군
어찌나 많이 걸었던지
발에 피가 나기
시작했어

차 타고 지나가는

병원에 입원한 나에게

주사를 놓으며 말하길

난 지금 주립 보호소에 앉아 있어

없이 무작정 말이야
하지만 한결 북적거리긴

읽기로 결심했어
